At the championship, there are no greater stars than the teachers who make it possible for students to achieve their dreams.
In 2013 the College Football Playoff was created as the new national championship tournament and, in conjunction, the College Football Playoff Foundation was formed. Its primary platform, Extra Yard for Teachers, is dedicated to elevating the teaching profession by inspiring and empowering America’s teachers.
On the Saturday before each National Championship, the everyday heroes who help so many reach their dreams are celebrated with the Extra Yard for Teachers Summit—a fast-paced conference designed to engage and energize teachers in the game’s host city.
For three years, we were charged with publicizing the Summit and promoting free tickets to area teachers, organizing a local blogger team, and assisting in event planning. Each year we designed the event’s visual identity and printed collateral—the visual theme highlighted components of the community or a feeling we wanted attendees to walk away with.
At each Summit, we were blown away by the passion and appreciation of the teachers and the heartfelt thanks they offered for having an event solely dedicated to them.
